It is important to note that before 1752 the year began on Lady Day, 25th March, although a few entries before then used Jan 1st as start of year & not Lady Day

In the early records certain names were recorded in Latin, examples of which are shown below

Fransisci / Ffrannce =Francis / Frances

Gulielms / Jguli (H)elmi / Willyemi = William

​

The description "Baseborn" is used in certain records which is an old word meaning "Illegitimate".
